INTERESTING PLACES 

THE BRIDGE OF BOYACA

One of the best known locations historically in Colombia is the Boyaca Bridge.In that place happened the battle of Boyaca , where the liberating troops led by Simon Bolivar defeated European armies.
Giving the most telling blow of the independency of Colombia.

This place is guarded by soldiers wearing military clothing of that time , something very unique and striking. 
It certainly is a beautiful place to visit and remember our past, commemorating the heroes who died in battle .

VILLA DE LEYVA

One of the most touristic places around the country , is Villa de Leyva.
This magical place will receive us with a warm and friendly atmosphere, this town is a major tourist attraction for its colonial architecture, which seemed stuck in time. Its main square surrounded by colonial buildings, and its main church turns out to be a beautiful New Granada landscape.

Also you can find on exhibits, fossils of ancient dinosaurs that inhabited this area of ​​the world, thousands of years ago.

BOYACENSE TOWNSHIP

The Boyacense Township is a small citadel located outside of Duitama. Each street of this citadel represents the more traditional architecture of municipalities of the department. Thus a street represents the colonial architecture of towns like Raquira ,Villa de Leyva , others were building based in the architecture of the town of cocuy, among others.

Undoubtedly, this magical place becomes an interesting representation of the boyacense culture, If you travel to Boyaca, you should  visit this wonderful place.

LAKE TOTA

One of the most touristic places in the region is Tota Lake , located in the nearby Tota and Aquitaine towns. It is the largest lake in Colombia and is the second highest navigable lake in South America. Because it has an altitude of 3000 meters above will sea level.

This lake is surrounded by vast natural resources, consisting of paramos and forests.

One of the busiest places in the lake is Playa Blanca, located southwest of the lake, in this place you can find great restaurants , you can also rent boats or tours of the place. Definitely is the perfect combination: nature and fun.
 

El Cocuy National Natural Park 
This beautiful natural wonder is located in the northeast of the department. Among the municipalities of El cocuy , Guican , Chita , Chsicas , El Espino and Cubara. It consists of a series of snow-capped peaks , lakes , rivers, paramos and forests. Protected as a nature reserve .

This is a special place for visit in your vacations.
You can  walking in the place , climbing the snowy  peaks, accompanied by guides and local people.
